Gogglebox returned to Channel 4 on Friday (February 24) as the nation's most popular TV critics gave their opinions on the week's viewing. And the first programme they tackled was the new series of an ITV1 talent show that features people paying tribute to their favourite singers.
Starstruck is now on its second season, and the Gogglebox personalities were seen watching host Olly Murs introduce three contestants who were hoping to be named the best version of their particular idol.
Building up to the big reveal, Murs said: "These three are transforming into an undeniable music legend who's not just their idol but mine too. Tonight Mark, Steve and Mel are going to be... Sir Tom Jones."
But Gogglebox mainstay Pete Sandiford, watching with his sister Sophie at home in Blackpool, spotted a discrepancy between Murs' introduction and the text displayed on screen - which merely said 'Tom Jones' and didn't refer to the veteran Welsh singer's knighthood.
"They've not put Sir Tom on there though, that's disgusting," said Pete in a humorously disapproving way. Sophie agreed, simply saying: "Disgusting."
However Pete and Sophie soon got into the spirit of Starstruck as the three impersonators began a joint rendition of Tom Jones' hit It's Not Unusual. Pete even attempted to re-enact Jones' signature hip-swivelling dance moves on the sofa while crooning the song's lyrics.
Gogglebox airs on Channel 4 on Fridays at 9pm
