Gogglebox's Ellie Warner shares painful health update as she's praised by fans

Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has been praised for her candid health update. It comes after the Channel 4 favourite welcomed her baby son Ezra just a few weeks ago, introducing him on-screen during an episode of the programme alongside her sister Izzi.

The hairdresser from Leeds, who welcomed her first child with partner Nat, has been keeping fans updated as she adapts to motherhood on Instagram, and in her latest post the television star revealed she was suffering from mastitis which she described as "getting better".

Sharing a snap of herself breastfeeding Ezra in a sling, Ellie posed and made the peace sign as she captioned the picture: "Today at the sling library! Can’t wait to take it out for a test drive, got a bit of mastitis, but it’s getting better now thank god."

According to the NHS, mastitis is when your breast becomes swollen, hot and painful. It is most common in breastfeeding women and does not usually need medical treatment. The NHS website suggests a cloth soaked in warm water and applied to the breast (or a shower or bath) may improve milk flow.

Ellie was flooded with comments as one follower wrote: "Amazing, great breastfeeding awareness. Mastitis is painful hope it gets better soon. I loved my sling for breastfeeding."

Another added: "Thank you for sharing what we mams go through. It is not easy but it is worth it."

And a third commented: "Absolutely rocking it! What a great pic to send confidence to other mummy's out there!"

A fourth said: "Love love love this. Sharing pics like this is so important for breastfeeding mamas. Gives them confidence to feed in public too. Well done." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
