Channel 4 stars Dave and Shirley Griffiths have been enjoying some time away as they take a break from Gogglebox. The popular programme, which sees a cast of armchair critics react to the latest television shows, has ended for another series.
Currently, the show's spin-off celebrity version is airing in the Friday night slot with a brand new line-up, including The Royle Family's Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston, Davina McCall and Michael Douglas, and Tom Grennan with his dad Martin. However, with some time off away from screens, Caerphilly-born stars Dave and Shirley have used the opportunity to trade the UK for the sunnier location of Salou in Spain. The married couple, who have been welcoming viewers into their Welsh abode since 2015, said "cheers" to their followers as they jetted off.

The pair, who regularly keep their 180k followers up to date on Instagram, shared a selfie from their getaway and captioned it: "Happy holidays everyone cheers."
They were quickly inundated with comments as one wrote: "Loves you both so much such a genuine couple makes me proud to be Welsh," while another added: "Cheers you two, happy holidays."
As a third commented: "Happy Hols you two!! Have a fab time!!" and a fourth said: "Have a fabulous time... bet you're missing the dogs though. See you back on Channel 4 later in the year."
"Such a gorgeous couple," commented a fifth. "I hope you have an amazing holiday. Love and hugs to you both."
It comes after the pair confirmed their last show at the beginning of June and confirmed then they would be returning to screens. They told Gogglebox viewers on social media: "Happy #gogglebox Friday everyone last one tonight so hope you enjoy it, all have a fab summer see you all in September."
