A goat that was running loose across the M5 motorway has been caught by police and returned safely to its field.
In a tweet from the 'Glos Police Specialist Ops' account yesterday afternoon (May 4) the goat could be seen in a photograph alongside an officer dubbed a "specially trained dog and goat handler". Both were stood behind the barrier on the side of a busy stretch of the motorway, underneath a bridge.
The caption described the goat as a "4 legged menace" and the events as "something a bit different".

The tweet read: "Multiple calls today relating to something a bit different on the M5 running around live lanes. This 4 legged menace gave us the run around but eventually was caught by our specially trained dog and goat handler!
"Safely returned to his field #GOAT".
One person commented that it was "something to bleat about back at the station - once it's booked into lost property!"
