Susanna Reid has announced she will be taking a break from Good Morning Britain.
The presenter has confirmed she will be off the ITV show for a while as she enjoys a summer break from the show, thanking her ITV colleagues for replacing her in the meantime as she plans her summer holidays.
Susanna usually presents the show most of the week alongside a rotating male presenter, with Ed Balls stepping into the position for this week thus far, and Charlotte Hawkins presenting the news today.
The main ITV presenters like Susanna always take a summer break, with This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield already on a break themselves as a number of stars replace them including Dermot O'Leary, Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes.
During the show today, as the trio chatted about beach huts as Charlotte confessed she was trying to book one. It was then that Ed asked Susanna if she was on holiday soon and what she might be doing with her time off.
"Today is my last day for the summer. I may be renting a beach hut. So just want to say thank you to everybody but I leave you in the very capable hands of this wonderful team over the summer," she said, confirming her summer break.
As they revealed what was coming up next, Susanna then quipped: "However, I'm not off yet, I still have 43 minutes."
Meanwhile, Susanna previously joked the presenter switch-up
"Now when you are presenting right now, it's a little bit like speed dating. There has been a fair few fellas," Lorraine asked during a chat on her morning show, as Susanna joked back: "TV Tinder!"
"It is TV Tinder! There's been quite a few," Lorraine then added.
Susanna went on to list some of her fellow co-hosts, as clips of them presenting together were shown on screen.
"There's my good friend Rob Rinder, I'm normally out in Ibiza with him. There's Ed Balls, who we know of course. Alistair Campbell aswell," she said, "Richard Madeley, Adil Ray, Bill Turnbull, Richard Bacon, Martin Lewis. Where does it stop?"
Since Piers Morgan's departure, there has been a "supergroup" of male presenters joining Susanna on the show.
"It’s been talked about as a super-group of presenters with different personalities, styles and opinions," the insider told The Mirror, "Each brings something fresh to the table and Susanna is the perfect co-host in bringing out their respective qualities."
