Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid bemoaned the latest I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! axe as the ITV host spoke with Scarlette Douglas from Australia on Monday.
The former A Place In The Sun presenter was called into the programme fresh off the back of her elimination on Sunday night, as she became the second star to be voted out of the jungle.
After hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly announced she would be leaving the show, the 35-year-old cried and hugged all her campmates before she told the hosts she was devastated to be leaving.
As Scarlette called in to GMB, Susanna exclaimed: “I can’t believe it, Scarlette! You were one of my favourites!”
In the studio fellow presenter Richard Arnold added: “We’re furious! Furious! Congratulations from all of us here.” Susanna’s co-host Richard Madeley said: “You did a cracking job,” before Susanna added: “I wish you weren’t out. I think you’re great, Scarlette.”
When asked who she wanted to win, Scarlette said she is plumping for Babatúndé Aléshé, who also landed in the bottom two alongside her.
She said: “I have no idea who’s going to win it. Everybody is amazing! Of course I want Babatúndé to win because he’s like my brother now.
“But everyone is incredible and none of us can guess it, so I genuinely don’t know who’s going to win. I would love to see Babatúndé win.”
This comes after I'm A Celebrity has become embroiled in a race row as Scarlette became the second to leave after Charlene White was voted off last week.
Angry fans of the ITV show took to Twitter after the Place In The Sun star was confirmed to be leaving the programme to fume how two black women had been the first to leave the show.
One angry viewer penned: "Do not love that the two Black women were the first to be voted out of I’m A Celeb," whilst another added: "Another black woman out... I wonder if people are still gonna say race isn't playing a part here."
"Why is it always the black celebs out first? Saying this people will say I’m playing the race card but this is clearly an issue wtf," a third shared.
A fourth wrote: "Stop this racist voting now. This is sickening and ITV you must not allow it to continue,” as another shored: "The I’m A Celeb popularity contest kicks out the 2 black women first."
I’m A Celebrity continues nightly at 9pm on ITV
