GMB’s Ranvir Singh shares co-star is leaving show after presenter shake-up

Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh has shared a new presenter shake-up with ITV viewers after Paul Brand made his debut helming the morning show.

However, Ranvir shared on Friday that her breakfast show colleague is leaving after two mornings in the seat.

The 45-year-old TV presenter told early-morning viewers on Friday that ITV News Editor Paul Brand, who first replaced Richard Madeley on Thursday's show, would be calling time on his presenting gig.

The former political correspondent laughed as she told how this meant he would have only hosted two Good Morning Britain episodes.

Ranvir said: "It's your second and last day today isn't it?" She then joked how he "only wanted two early starts in his contract."

Early on during Thursday's Good Morning Britain, presenter Kate Garraway had gushed to her new co-host as she told him: "Everyone is thoroughly enjoying Paul Brand being here.

"They are saying you're a breath of fresh air and you are brilliant - but I will indulge you with those comments later."

Those at home appeared to agree, with one taking to Twitter to write: "Having Paul Brand on #GMB after 3 days of the Judge Rinder show, is just awesome. More of this please!"

A second put: "I like Paul Brand presenting as he doesn’t make the show about himself. It’s not all about a big personality presenting, it’s about asking the questions that matter #gmb."

Elsewhere in yesterday’s programme, Good Morning Britain host Kate shared a health update with ITV viewers on her husband Derek Draper, after his recent health scare.

The former political lobbyist, 55, was rushed to A&E with sepsis in July as he continues to battle the health issues he has had since contracting Covid in 2020.

Kate, also 55, mentioned her husband's ongoing health battle during Thursday's instalment of the ITV morning show, as she was joined by new presenter Paul.

It came during a chat with rail union boss Mick Lynch amid the rail strikes enveloping the UK's train network.

Kate said: "I spend pretty much all of my time on trains, or in hospital with Derek."

Kate says her husband is now finally "back on the right side of it" ahead of her return to work on GMB and Smooth Radio after three weeks off.

Sharing an update with fans, she wrote: "Thank you so so much for all your messages of support – they really do mean the world to me & the whole family.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
