A “life changing” Knowsley nursery where children “thrive” and staff cheer on their development has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
The nursery, Rainbow Childcare (Kirkby) Ltd, based at Millbrook Primary School in Kirkby has received the highest rating by the education watchdog after an inspection carried out this summer.
It is the second time the nursery, which was opened in 2014 and runs in a separate part of the Knowsley primary school, has been rated outstanding. It was also highly commended in a previous inspection carried out in 2016.

A report published last week into the latest inspection, which was carried out in July, describes an environment where children “bound in full of excitement and eagerly greet staff members with huge smiles.”
The report adds: “The highly passionate staff team show genuine care and strong commitment to every child” with “high expectations” and “pure delight” as children master new skills.
Inspectors said that parents told them the care their children received at the nursery was “life changing.” In particular, children with special education needs received “outstanding support”, according to the report.
Staff development processes were described as “amazing” and the “devoted” team had exceptional skills and experiences to help develop “confident and independent” children who are well equipped for the transition to primary school.
