Glow through the festivities: Hydration and protection tips for your skin this Diwali

Diwali is just around the corner, bringing joy, celebrations, and unfortunately, potential stress for your skin. Between pollution, late nights, and festive treats, your skin may lose its glow. This Diwali, keep your skin radiant with simple hydration, protection, and revitalizing tips.

Gentle exfoliation for an easy startStart with a light exfoliation to remove dead skin cells. It will allow better absorption of skincare products and give a smoother texture. Pick a mild exfoliant with enzymes or mild acids like lactic or glycolic acid. Avoid using harsh scrubs; they may irritate skin already exposed to pollution and stress.

Layering moisture The secret to glowing skin is hydration. Layer your products for moisture that lasts. Start with a light serum, then a richer moisturizer. If you have dry skin, add a few drops of facial oil for extra hydration. Moisturized skin holds makeup better.

Invigorate with advanced treatmentsLooking for extra glow? Bio-remodeling and hydrostretch therapy offer advanced skin rejuvenation. Bio-remodeling, through Profhilo, uses ultrapure hyaluronic acid injections to hydrate, plump, and firm the skin, boosting collagen and reducing wrinkles. Viscoderm HydroBooster, a type of hydrostretch therapy, deeply hydrates with stabilized hyaluronic acid, smoothing out surface lines. Both treatments are quick, painless, and perfect for a festive glow.

Don’t forget the sun protectionWe all know sun exposure can cause long-term skin damage. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen with antioxidants daily, even if you're indoors or it’s cloudy.

Guard against pollutionPollution from firecrackers can clog pores and dull your skin. Use skincare with antioxidants like Vitamin C, green tea, or niacinamide. These neutralize free radicals and protect your skin barrier. Apply a detoxifying mask with clay, charcoal, or salicylic acid to clear impurities after the celebrations.

Stay hydrated Drinking water and eating hydrating foods are essential for skin health. Include water-rich foods like cucumber, watermelon, oranges, and tomatoes, which keep skin plump. Nutrient-dense foods like avocados and almonds also help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier.

Sleep well for glowing skinWith all the fun, you might lose some sleep. Try to rest well before Diwali; during sleep, skin cells repair, and hydration levels are restored.
