Gartcairn women’s boss Robert McCallum says his players have already set the target of achieving another league title.
The MTC Park club are looking forward to life in SWPL 2 after winning the Championship South with 19 wins in their 22 league games during 2021/22.
A big jump in quality awaits them during exciting times for the women’s game in Scotland, which is now the SPFL’s responsibility at elite level.
McCallum and his team are already busy with their recruitment work but they know they could lose players due to their training routine going up to three nights a week.
But some of the players who are remaining in Airdrie aren’t content with just one league title success.
And McCallum says that there is ambition to not just survive in Scotland’s second tier, but push for a place in SWPL 1.
“There are a few players for whom the training commitments this season won’t suit,” he said.
“We will be going up to three times a week and that kills a lot of our players who are struggling to get to two as it is.
“We’ll end up losing players just because of that, but we will see.
“I am sure the players who can’t continue with us, going into next season, will contact me.
“It’s not very often you will get the chance to celebrate a league title so I wanted the players to enjoy it and make the most of it.
“A couple of them said that’s wrong as we’ll have another one next year, but we’ll see!
“We have improved greatly since the start of last season. We will see where we lie and see where we need to strengthen.”
He added: “The admin side is always a lot but it’s something I’m good at.”
