A charity which supports those living with muscle-wasting conditions is calling on everyone in Glasgow to 'go bright' and wear something colourful to help raise vital funds.
Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) works to ensure that everyone with a muscle-wasting condition receives the right specialist NHS support and healthcare, regardless of their age or where they live.
They help improve a person's quality of life and aid them in making the most of their independence and ensuring that every day counts.

But the charity needs donations to be able to do the life-changing work it does - and is calling on Glaswegians to take part in its Go Bright fundraising initiative to support those in Scotland who have a muscle-wasting condition as well as family, friends and colleagues who might be affected.
The fundraising initiative on February 3 is challenging schools, employers and everyone else to wear their boldest, brightest colours on the day.
People are being urged to gain sponsorship for dressing in vivid colours and engaging with the fundraising pack materials to maximise how much can be raised
The initiative aims to shine a light on muscle-wasting conditions and raise much needed awareness and funds to support vital research to help fight muscular dystrophy.
Whether it’s swapping a school uniform to wear one bright thing, dressing to the nines with work colleagues, on video calls or simply strutting your stuff with friends and family at a club or community centre, MDUK needs you.
Jodie Whitham, MDUK’s Regional Development Manager said: “We rely on the generosity of our supporters, local businesses, and communities to get behind Go Bright. Collectively the day has so far raised nearly £160k and helped to fund essential research and support work – we really couldn’t do it without the community behind us.
"So, we are calling on people to get behind Go Bright 2023 and please dig deep – a huge thank you in advance.”
