If you're the sort of person that regularly daydreams about escaping from city life to the countryside, then we may have found the perfect opportunity for you to make that dream a reality.
Two plots of land are set to go up for auction in Glasgow in separate - but equally spectacular - locations in the Highlands with property auctioneers Auction House Scotland.
The first is the further north of the two plots, this piece of land is near to the Highland village of Bonar Bridge, around an hour’s drive north of Inverness.

Set in a peaceful sheltered woodland spot close to Loch Migdale, the area extends to approximately 0.8 acres.
The plot has existing planning in principle for a 1.5 storey house, meaning full planning and building warrant approvals would still be required prior to any construction. Access to the plot is via a hardcore driveway, whilst it already has access to an electricity supply and mains water. Planning details can be found on the Highland Council website using reference 19/00212/PIP.
It could be perfect for those who have always wanted to create a new-build family home in the countryside, but would also be ideal for a business owner looking to take advantage of this picturesque, rural area close to the world-famous North Coast 500 (NC500) route for the likes of glamping pods or a log cabin.
The area is perfect for outdoors lovers with woodland walks and mountain bike trails plus boating, canoeing and paddleboarding on the local lochs and rivers. There’s also a range of whisky distilleries nearby, including the world-renowned Glenmorangie.
The nearest village to the plot, just 1.5 miles away, is Bonar Bridge, which overlooks the beautiful Kyle of Sutherland - a river estuary that separates the Highland counties of Sutherland and Ross-shire. It offers a variety of shops and amenities for locals.
The plot can be viewed on Auction House Scotland’s website here.
Full planning permission has also recently been granted for the second property.
The lucky plot owner can, subject to conditions, create their own modern three-bedroom detached house to be built in this scenic spot in the village of Ardersier offering sea views over the Moray Firth and the hills of the Black Isle.
Approximately 3,350sqm in size, the development plot would be ideal for a golf-enthusiast as it is located within an hour’s drive of several world-famous golf courses, including Castle Stuart, Fort George, Nairn and Spey Valley – with the closest being Castle Stuart Golf Links (now known as Cabot Highlands) just over four miles away.
Planning details for the plot can be found on the Highland Council’s website using reference 19/04355/FUL.
Situated on the shores of the Moray Firth, the former fishing village of Ardersier is set amongst stunning coastal scenery, offering plenty of opportunities for walks and exploring the abundance of wildlife in the area.
Amenities in the village include a primary school, convenience store, pharmacy, post office, hotel, village pub, and coffee shop,. It is 11 miles east of Inverness, with the city’s airport and newly opened airport railway station just three miles away.
The plot can be viewed on Auction House Scotland’s website here.
Both plots of land are due to go under the hammer at Auction House Scotland’s next in-room auction taking place at 2pm on Thursday, March 23 at the Radisson RED hotel in Glasgow. However, pre-auction offers are welcome.
The auction will be live streamed, allowing interested bidders the option to watch and bid online, whilst telephone and proxy bidding is also available if potential buyers are unable to attend the auction to bid in person. All bidders are required to register to bid before participating.
More information about the plots and the process of buying at auction can found on Auction House Scotland’s website or by calling 0141 339 4466.
