Glastonbury Festival organisers have asked festivalgoers not to bring gazebos to the five-day event. Next week, more than 200,000 music lovers are expected to descend on Worthy Farm in Somerset as Glastonbury goes ahead for the first time since 2019.
The festival is known for its environmental consciousness, having previously banned the sale of single-use plastic bottles on their site in 2019. The reasoning for the most recent decision made by organisers is that gazebos often get left behind once the festival is finished, causing unnecessary waste to build up.
Organisers have said that anyone who brings a gazebo to the festival may be asked to take it down by festival staff. In addition to creating waste, gazebos take up precious camping space.
