A Glaswegian who lost both her legs after suffering from meningitis is thankful to her mum - who helped her get a kidney after she was diagnosed with acute kidney failure.
Seyda Oates' life changed when she contracted meningitis back in 2019. The 24-year-old was given a five per cent survival rate and had to undergo a double leg amputation to save her life.
She was put on haemodialysis to help her kidneys function and was placed on a waiting list for a transplant in late 2020.
