A woman who knocked her sleeping friend unconscious with a bottle has avoided jail.

Julie Candlish, 51, turned on Angela Mullan at her home in Toryglen. The childhood friends were drinking together before the victim fell asleep.

She later woke up after being assaulted with a bottle that was smashed over the head. Miss Mullan also received a fractured hand while trying to defend herself against the blows.
