A rundown shopping arcade has been fenced off for demolition as plans kick-off to build new homes on the site.
The empty Shawbridge Arcade in Pollokshaws is set to be razed to the ground to make way for about 70 affordable flats. Bookmakers William Hill was the last remaining arcade tenant and hoped to relocate to nearby premises in Riverford Road but has been refused planning permission from the council.
Early site proposals released for consultation show the new blocks of flats earmarked to replace the arcade would be four and five stories high.
