An Aberdeen based takeaway has announced they’ll be opening a second location here in Glasgow, offering their Instagram friendly fares.
In early October, Aberdam will be setting up shop in Scotland’s first ever Deliveroo Editions kitchen - which will see ten different outlets housed in one city centre hub. Food from the hub is only available for takeaway, through the Deliveroo app.
After launching less than 18 months ago (mid-pandemic, we should add), Aberdam quickly built a loyal fanbase in Aberdeen - serving unique takeaway foods through home delivery. Owners Dave Griffiths and Michael Robertson are now hoping Glaswegians will take to their fares, such as Nutella covered fries and pink mayonnaise.

As businesses up and down the country are forced to slash opening hours, while some close altogether, the owners are aware they’re lucky to be expanding - and even plan on opening their own standalone shop in Glasgow early next year. Dave said: “It’s probably the worst climate in memory to actually launch a business.
“But we’re ridiculously grateful that we’re actually going in the opposite position. We just can’t keep up with demand.”
“I honestly can’t wait to hit the streets and start showing people our food and see what they make of pink mayonnaise. We’re certain our product will be well received down there because of the love we put into making it.”
The fast-food operators are currently running a promotion on their Instagram account, for users helping spread the word. They’re choosing 25 of the comments on their post, each of whom will receive a £20 voucher.
Writing on Instagram, Aberdam said: “This is not a drill - as of early October we’re excited to announce that we’ll be slinging our absolute filth all over Glasvegas, exclusively via Deliveroo.
“We’re so unbelievably proud of the crazy journey we’ve been on over the last year and a half and we can’t wait to open our second location. Based on consistently strong performance and ratings on Deliveroo, we were invited to take a space at Scotland’s first ever Deliveroo Editions kitchen, providing us with a way of introducing our food to the fine people of Glasgow before opening a permanent store there early next year.
“Thank you once again for supporting our independent business, we’re completely self-funded and all of the growth in our business, jobs created and positive impact on our local community is only possible through your incredible love and support.”
Offerings from Aberdam include poutine, salt and pepper dirty fries, chicken katsu fries, and a range of both meat and vegan burger options. In the desserts section, they’ve got deep fried caramel balls and chocolate orange cookies - not forgetting their kinder bueno milkshake.
