Glasgow schoolgirl who impressed Indiana Jones bosses with costume walks red carpet

A Glasgow schoolgirl who impressed Indiana Jones bosses with her costume, while they were filming in our city, was spotted on the red carpet during the film's premiere on Monday.

Isla Neil, 10, walked the red carpet donning the costume that wowed movie executives as she attended the Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny movie premiere in London with her dad Alastair, 54.

The Glaswegian youngster appeared on the famous red carpet before the film's stars, including Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the Daily Record reports.

The lucky schoolgirl received her invitation two years after she was invited on set while the blockbuster movie was being filmed in Scotland. Then aged 8, she impressed movie executives on set with her Indy outfit.

Isla and her dad were whisked down to London for the star studded London screening ahead of the movie release on June 28 in the UK.

Just two weeks ago, Isla was invited to the premiere in Los Angeles but was left upset when her passport couldn't be renewed in time.

Dad Alasdair contacted studio bosses at Lucasfilm who agreed to invite the youngster to London instead.

The scaffolder told the Record: "I got an email from Lucasfilm inviting us to the LA premiere a few weeks ago. We were both absolutely over the moon but I couldn't get Isla's passport renewed in time so we couldn't go.

"I contacted them to explain the situation and then we got an official invite for the premiere in London.

"We've had the perfect time in London celebrating."

He added: "It has gone full circle, from Isla being invited on set to now being on the red carpet, it is amazing."

Isla and her dad are keen cosplayers, with the two attending comic-cons over the years.

Alastair had planned to take photos of Isla on the film set when shooting finished in Glasgow in 2021 after the streets were transformed into 1969 New York.

Isla's impressive costume of the legendary action hero caught the eye of executives who invited the youngster onto set for a special behind-the-scenes tour after being fist pumped by crew members.

Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny is the final installment of the American franchise, with Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role alongside Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Narcos star Boyd Holbrook.
