Simple Online Healthcare has appointed two former senior Skyscanner executives to its board as the online pharmacy puts plans in place for further expansion in the UK and internationally.
Shane Corstorphine and Jules Pancholi have been appointed non-executive directors of the Glasgow-based business.
Founded by Addy Mohammed and Karim Nassar in 2015, Simple Online Healthcare offers a free online NHS England prescription delivery service, an online pharmacy store, and online doctor services in the UK and Australia.
The business has almost doubled revenue in the year to 28 February 2022 to £14.5m, and is on track for revenue in excess of £20m in the current year.
In line with the company’s expansion, headcount has also more than doubled during the past 15 months, from 32 to 70.
Corstorphine, who is also a non-executive with Brewgooder, began his career at PwC before taking up senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays. He joined Skyscanner as chief financial officer in 2012, going on to be general manager for the Americas, and senior vice president of growth globally.
He commented: “Digital healthcare is one of the most dynamic sectors around, Addy and Karim have built a business with the potential to grow even more rapidly both here in the UK and in other territories, and Jules and I look forward to advising on strategic growth as the business makes a step up to the next level.”
In addition to his role at Skyscanner, Jules Pancholi, who began his career as a commodity options trader at Credit Suisse, was part of the executive team that oversaw the travel search site’s international growth. His career to date includes the chief operating officer role at social shopping guide Dooyoo, president of Ultra Health Technologies, chair of marketing network Nixxie, managing director of Nitro Ventures, and co-founder of Estimo Technologies.
Simple Online Healthcare has invested significantly in its technology over the last two years, with a strong focus on patient care. The company also has a number of physical pharmacies across the UK, and is growing rapidly in Australia.
Mohammed, co-founder of Simple Online Healthcare, said: “While our primary focus is currently around the UK and Australian markets, we have a European acquisition in the pipeline which we hope to announce over the next couple of months.
“Getting Shane and Jules on board to help guide us through our next phase of growth will be invaluable - the breadth of experience both bring will help us to further our ambition to deliver a world-class service to patients in the UK, Europe, and beyond.”
Simple Online Health also recently appointed a new head of finance, Michael Hope, who has joined after a decade at PwC.
