A Glasgow woman has passed away after being diagnosed with cancer while on holiday in Las Vegas.
Ellen Cassidy was on a 10-day trip to the US to attend the Celtic Convention when she began feeling unwell.
The 54-year-old from Springburn started suffering from extreme fatigue and pain near her kidneys halfway through the trip. She was rushed to nearby Sunrise Hospital and Medical Centre where doctors discovered cancer in her gallbladder.
Tragically, a scan later found cancer had already spread to Ellen's lungs, kidneys and liver.

We reported how son Kevin Martin was frantically trying to get over the states to be by his mum's bedside after being told that the cancer was advanced and she didn't have long to live.
A fundraiser to get him there and to cover the costs of Ellen's unexpected hospital trip raised over £15,000 in just one day. He was expected to fly out on Friday morning.
But sadly, Kevin confirmed that his mum passed away on Thursday evening.
The 32-year-old said: "Thanks everyone for your generous donations and kind words of support
"Mum has now gained her angel wings she passed away peacefully on 23/06/22 at 21:36."
He had previously told that his mum reported feeling 'really tired'. He added: "My mum had said she was feeling a bit unwell so she had been taking painkillers on holiday.
"Before flying out she was in good health and really looking forward to the trip. She’s Celtic daft.
“She phoned to say she was going to hospital so I knew she really wasn’t feeling well. When she called, she could hardly speak she was so breathless.
“Then she told me she was going for surgery, it was a total shock. I just said to her ‘we’ll get you better and get you back home'".
Tributes have been paid to Ellen who has been described as a 'lovely lady'.
One person wrote: "Such sad news, Kevin our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your mum was a lovely lady, best wishes."
Another added: "I’ve known Ellen and Kevin for as long as I can remember, she was a great laugh to be around, never seen her without a smile on her face. I’m gutted I’ve just heard the sad news. Ellen and Kevin ur in my thoughts and prayers GBNF."
