A Glasgow man has been jailed for 10 years for starting a flat fire that killed his neighbour in the hope he would get a move.
Junaid Saddiqui set paper alight in the living room of his home in Lincluden Path, Pollokshields, but it spiralled out of control and claimed the life of Rahul Thakur who was overcome by smoke.
The 55-year-old earlier stood trial accused of murdering the victim in the blaze on June 1 last year, but was convicted of the lesser crime of culpable homicide.
