Zara owner and Spain's richest man Amancio Ortega has purchased a building in Glasgow for £200m.
Ortega, the billionaire behind the Inditex fashion brand - which owns other brands such as Massimo Dutti, Bershka and Pull & Bear - made the purchase through his real estate agency Pontegadea, Spanish newspaper El Pais reports.
The 86-year-old businessman, who opened his first Zara store with his wife back in 1975 in A Coruña in the region of Galicia in Spain, is currently listed as being the third richest man in Europe, with an estimated net worth of £46 billion.

The 30,000 sq. ft development, on Bothwell Street, will have tenants the likes of Virgin Money, BNP Paribas, Aecom and Transport Scotland.
When completed it will be Glasgow's biggest office building and will feature a 8,000 sq. ft. rooftop terrace and running track, 318 cycle spaces and electric vehicle charging points, while catering for a workforce of around 3,500.
As we reported back in February 2020, 177 Bothwell Street is set to change the city's skyline for good, with estimates suggesting it will contribute £1.8billion to Glasgow's economy alone, and a further billion for the rest of the country, over the next 25 years.
The purchase of the Glasgow building comes three years after Ortega forked out around £588m for The Post Building in New Oxford Street in Central London.
