A flight from Birmingham to Glasgow was forced to return to Birmingham Airport after declaring an emergency shortly after takeoff.
Flybe flight BE796, which departed around 5:45pm this evening, issued an emergency squawk 7700 code as the plane was travelling at an altitude of around 11,000 feet above Derby.
The squawk 7700 code is reserved for emergency situations and immediately alerts Air Traffic Control (ATC) and other nearby planes that the aircraft squawking 7700 is in distress.

Flight path data from Flightradar24 confirms that the passenger plane performed a u-turn in the air and headed back in the direction of Birmingham, before landing safely at Birmingham Airport around 6:10pm - 25 minutes after taking off.
The flight was originally scheduled to land at Glasgow Airport at 7:25pm after making the 305-mile trip north, Birmingham Live reports.
Flightradar24 shows the plane then took off again at 8:18pm, and landed at Glasgow Airport one hour later at 9:18pm this evening.
