The holidays are here and many of us will now be jetting away to our favourite destinations for some much needed down time.
And whilst covid restrictions are being scrapped in Scotland, so too are the rules for the travel sector.
But this doesn't mean we can ditch the masks just yet because some rules still remain - meaning that whilst some of us have to show our vaccine passport, other have to test before they can fly.

There has been reports in the news recently of operators such as British Airways (BA) and easyJet cancelling flights however Glasgow seems to remain unaffected from these thankfully.
So what are the rules in place currently when you're travelling to and from Glasgow Airport?
Do I need to wear a face mask in Glasgow Airport?
At present you do.
The airport states that "under new Scottish Government legislation, face coverings are required to be worn in the Terminal Building and on flights."
All staff currently wear masks and it is now compulsory in Scotland for everyone to do so within the airport buildings. There are exemptions for those who have medical reasons that prevent this. Where close contact with a passenger is required additional measures will be taken by staff which includes the use of gloves, face shield and use of a disposable apron where appropriate.
Exemptions include:
- If you’re under 12 years old
- If you’ve got an illness or disability which means you cannot wear one
- If wearing one would cause you severe distress
If you lip read or need any member of staff to remove their face covering temporarily to help communicate the airport says you should let staff know.
Do I need to wear a face mask on a flight to and from Glasgow when flying with easyJet or any other operator?
This can all depend on who you're flying with however if you're getting on and off the plane at Glasgow, a mask will be required at least until you're on the plane, regardless.
At present easyJet's website states that passengers must wear a face mask at the airport, at the gate when boarding the aircraft and throughout the flight.
Passengers not wearing a mask will not be able to board the aircraft however they do state that if you have an exemption you must visit their Safety and Wellbeing area.
They add: "In line with the guidance, all passengers including children age six and over will be required to wear a mask."
Easyjet add that the mask you wear should be FFP2 (or equivalent) certified, surgical or cloth adding that scarves, face visors or masks with valves are not permitted.
If your mask isn’t suitable, you may be refused travel.

Where are Glasgow Airport's covid testing facilities?
Whilst travel restrictions are easing for a lot of destinations, many places still want those who are not fully vaccinated to take a covid test before entering.
Sadly these cannot be the NHS LFT or PCR tests and must be approved tests.
Countries such as France still require a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours or an antigen test result taken within 48 hours pre-departure.
Glasgow Airport's covid test disclaimer states: "It is your responsibility to check you are not only booking the correct COVID test but also ensure you leave enough time to get the results before you fly. The COVID testing service is operated by TAC Healthcare Group Ltd and Glasgow Airport is not responsible for any results of testing.
"Whilst we try to keep our website as up to date as possible, the situation is changing on a daily bases so we encourage you to check the government website to ensure that you are getting the most accurate information for the destination you are flying to."
They also warn that tests should not be booked if you are experiencing covid symptoms.
PCR test
There are two options when it comes to PCR testing.
You can pay for a PCR Park and Test which comes back in 12 hours or 24 hours.
Each differs in price with the faster result costing £150 whilst the latter costs £80.
The testing takes place at Glasgow Airport in the Main Terminal Ground Floor and will be up and running until April 30 from 7am until 4pm.
The results will be delivered to you by e-mail and you must purchase the test prior to your arrival as you cannot turn up without a booking.
If you need to take a PCR test you can book one here.
Rapid antigen test
There is only one option for this form of testing with it costing holidaymakers £55.
This option is much quicker and if you don't like waiting for results, it may be the better option if you are able to chose between this and the PCR testing.
This is because the rapid antigen testing process takes between 12 and 15 minutes.
The testing takes place at Glasgow Airport in Terminal 2 and will be up and running until April 30 from 7am until 4pm.
The results will be delivered to you by e-mail and you must purchase the test prior to your arrival as you cannot turn up without a booking.
If you need to take a rapid antigen test you can book one here.
What covid precautions are Glasgow Airport taking?
Glasgow Airport have said that they are taking all the necessary precautions to keep their staff and passengers safe by installing hand sanitisers throughout as well as enhancing their "already thorough cleaning procedures with a specific focus on the regular cleaning of hard surfaces."
They add: "We are continuing to follow the medical, clinically driven, advice from the relevant health authorities on what measures are required and effective to deal with COVID-19."
Social distancing remains in place and there will be signs telling you this including in the toilets and seating area and when checking in you'll see protective screens.
