Girl rushed to hospital after being struck by car on Scots road

A child has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on a Scots road.

Emergency services raced to Whitburn Road in Bathgate shortly after 4pm this afternoon following a collision between a girl and a vehicle.

The youngster was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

The extent of her injuries is not yet known.

Police confirmed they attended the incident around 4.15pm on Monday, July 25.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision between a car and a female pedestrian on Whitburn Road in Bathgate around 4.15pm on Monday, July 25.

“The pedestrian has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.”
