A nine-year-old child has died after being shot in her home in Liverpool on Monday.
Police in Merseyside were called to a house in the Dovecot area of the city on August 22 after reports that an unknown man had burst into the house and fired a number of shots, the Liverpool Echo reports.
It is reported that the schoolgirl suffered a gunshot wound to the chest before being taken to hospital where she died from her injuries a short time later.
