Girl, 4, can't go outside because she's 'allergic to everything' - including air

A little girl who can't leave the house due to a string of rare conditions is desperately seeking help to battle her symptoms - which include being allergic to almost everything as well as the air outside her home.

Clara Clark survives on special baby formula and snacks on ice cubes when she's hungry as a result of her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which can cause anaphylactic shock in sufferers.

But the four year old from Queensland, Australia also has four other rare conditions which cause her to be severely allergic to chemicals in the air, cold weather and mosquito bites - meaning she needs to be pre-medicated for any trip outside the home.

As a result of her symptoms worsening in the last year, the tot has been unable to attend Kindergarten and may not be able to start school with her peers next year unless she gets urgent help.

Her mother Elisa Clark, 33, told Daily Mail Australia : "She is sad and asks me sometimes why no other kids have a sick tummy.

"She imagines what she could eat when her tummy is healed."

Clara's other conditions include Congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (CSID) Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES), Fructose Malabsorption and Cold Urticaria Skeeters Syndrome.

They all cause Clara severe stomach pains, severe acid reflux, and other symptoms associated with glucose intolerance.

Elisa explains she also has another child diagnosed with MCAS but explained that her son is stable and not in "constant suffering".

The mum of two added that she has been forced to "largely abandon" her children's clothes and accessories business to look after her daughter as she launched a GoFundMe to help fund her care.

Elisa explained that Clara's medication, specialist appointments, alternative treatments, and air purifiers cost around $100 a week (around £57).

Elisa and husband Simon, 36, said they can't accept that there is no help or treatment out there for their daughter, as they refused to give up hope.

The couple have tried numerous things to end her suffering including treating their house for possible hidden mould, red light therapy, and many compounded medications and specialist visits.

Signing off her fundraiser, Elisa wrote: "All we want is for Clara to be happy and stable so she can hopefully eat one day or go to school and just to be part of a normal life."
