A schoolgirl is in a 'critical' condition after being hit by a car in Falkirk.
Emergency services were called to King Street at its junction with Union Street in Stenhousemuir at around 3pm yesterday afternoon, Monday January, 17, following reports a child had been struck by a car.
The 12-year-old was rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, before being transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where she remains.
A 35-year-old man, the driver of the Ford Focus, was uninjured.
Sergeant David Ross is appealing for information.
He said: "This is a busy area and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.
"I would also appeal to drivers on the road at the time who have dash-cam footage to come forward too.
"Anyone with information that may assist our investigation into this crash should contact 101 with reference number 1792 of 17 January."
