Giovanni van Bronckhorst reacts to Rangers Alfredo Morelos injury blow as he delivers dressing room message

Gio van Bronckhorst insists Rangers need to "move on" from the Alfredo Morelos injury hammer blow.

The Colombian returned early from international duty in the recent break with his home federation revealing a "muscular injury" to his thigh.

He missed Sunday's derby defeat at home to Celtic and is out for the remainder of the campaign after undergoing surgery. He will return to training in pre-season.

Van Bronckhorst conceded it will be a big loss for the side for the remainder if the campaign.

However, he is keen to see other members of the Ibrox dressing room step up for Thursday's clash with Braga.

Alex Lowry and Ianis Hagi are the only other two absentees heading into the Europa League quarter-final.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Dutchman said: "It is a big blow to miss Alfredo. We know the problem and how long he is out, we now have to move on and focus on Thursday.

"We don't have Hagi, Morelos and Lowry, who is also unavailable.

"We have to create a game plan that will work for Thursday and that is our focus.

"We will go out every game and try to win with the strongest team possible.

"The team has performed really well in Europe, now we are one stage further and are pushing for a semi-final. There is all to play for and we go out to win this tie."
