Giorgos Giakoumakis has emerged as a reported transfer target for Danish outfit FC Midtjylland, according to a report.
The Celtic striker has been linked with a shock Parkhead exit after it was claimed talks over a new contract at the Scottish champions had stalled. He arrived 18 months ago in a deal from Dutch outfit VVV Venlo and has netted 25 times in 55 games for the Hoops. He's mainly had to play second fiddle of late to in-form Kyogo Furuhashi with an exit option now appearing according to Danish outlet BT.
The report states it would be both an ambitious and expensive move for the club to make as they bid to fill the void left by star man Evander - who left for Portland Timbers. Midjylland are skippered by former Celtic defender Erik Svitchenko and are a team familiar with the Hoops having eliminated them from Champions League qualifying last season.

One man who doesn't want to see the Greek striker leave Celtic is former boss Neil Lennon. In an exclusive interview with Glasgow Live Sport , he said: "He's an excellent player. With myself being out in Cyprus and Giakoumakis being Greek there is a lot of interest in him out in Cyprus. He's well thought of by the Greeks. He's improved a hell of a lot since he stepped in at Celtic.
"His scoring record before he arrived in Scotland was excellent. Playing in probably an average Dutch side his record was great and again at Celtic it is excellent.
"So again, I know he has only been there around 18 months but I would hopefully like to see him stay for a little bit longer. I know he might be little bit frustrated by a lack of game-time but I think he still has a huge part to play in Celtic's season."
This season the hitman has scored eight goals in 26 appearances in all competitions but has failed to start since the Premiership return from the World Cup winter shutdown with five involvements from the bench.
