Gio van Bronckhorst reveals Rangers driving force as Light Blues boss targets Scottish Cup glory after Dundee win

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has said the prospect of winning the Scottish Cup is a "driving" force for Rangers.

The Light Blues swept Dundee aside 3-0 in their quarter-final, days after their 3-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

Goals from Connor Goldson, James Tavernier and substitute Fashion Sakala sealed a comfortable win.

Rangers, who last won the Scottish Cup in 2009, join Hearts, Hibs and the winner of Dundee United versus Celtic in the last-four draw.

Reflecting on his side's performance, van Bronckhorst told Premier Sport: "I said to the players we need to show our energy and drive to go all the way.

"It's been a while since we won the cup and that's our drive.

"We had parked Europe and we had to show from the first minute that we came here to be in the next round.

"We had to show we were able to do anything that it takes.

"If you come here with 80 per cent then you will have a very hard game.

"But we have shown everyone that we wanted to leave here with the semi-final ticket in our pocket."

Ryan Kent hobbled off in the second half but van Bronckhorst is hopeful he will be fit for the return game against Red Star on Thursday night.

He said: "He's fine. I think he just had a bruise. I don't think it's anything special.

"I wanted to take him off just before it happened. But he's OK.

"Ryan Jack is OK, too."
