Gillio Lopes, Defendant in Cornell Sexual Assault Lawsuit, Confronted on Campus as Online Reactions Split

A Cornell University student has confronted Gillio Lopes, one of seven men named in a civil lawsuit alleging a 2024 sexual assault at the university's Chi Phi fraternity house. Video of the confrontation has spread online as the case receives renewed attention following the reopening of the criminal investigation.

The allegations against Lopes and the other defendants have not been established in court, and Lopes has denied the accusations through his attorney.
