Most fans who send team owners letters will not expect to receive any sort of formal response.
However, one Giants season-ticket holder, who recently sent a letter to team co-owner John Mara voicing his displeasure with night games, found a sympathizing voice.
The fan sent the correspondence to the two-time Super Bowl champion owner lamenting about the tema’s schedule of playing three primetime home games in 2023.
Upon receiving the letter, Mara responded with his own letter, per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
“I have your letter and I certainly understand your disdain for night games,” wrote Mara.
The 68 year-old owner, who told Schwartz that he actually attempts to respond to every letter he receives, said he shares the fan’s frustration with night games.
“I don’t like them either! On the other hand, if your team is playing most of its games at 1:00PM it usually means you are not doing very well,” added Mara.
“In any event, I hope we give you enough of a reason to want to attend our games in person regardless of what time they are scheduled.”
While the unhappy fan may or may not be in attendance when Big Blue hosts NFC East rival Dallas in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football, he’ll at least know he’s not alone in his disdain.
