Giant 330ft slip and slide in West Country set to open near Port Isaac

An enormous waterslide is opening in the West Country this summer. Giant Slip and Slide Cornwall has been wowing tourists for six years now, and is back once again from the end of May.

The 330ft (100 metre) slide has, in previous years, been so immensely popular that it’s had hour-long queues. Hosted in a field near St Endellion, near Port Isaac and Polzeath, families can enjoy the enormous attraction now the weather is finally starting to clear up, reports Cornwall Live.

Having been doing the attraction since 2017, its organisers have told people to book ahead if they can. As well as this, in previous years they have said visitors are welcome to set up a picnic while they wait for their turn.

A post from the organisers confirmed that it will reopen on Saturday (May 28). They said: “We are the original, and proud of what we brought to Cornwall. Looking forward to seeing all those smiling faces back again from next Saturday.”

A three metre-high launch ramp will send people flying down the slip and slide. The website for Giant Slip and Slide Cornwall brags about inflatable hoops, rings and “super fast” bodyboards for maximum speed down the track.

There will be four lanes open for the slip and slide, with people of all ages allowed to take part. There is availability on the day, but the organisers have said booking ahead of time is best.

It costs £12 per person, with children under 4 going free. You can book tickets on their website here.
