Ghaziabad: 4 hospitals release untreated water into rivers, told to pay Rs 63 lakh

GHAZIABAD: The UP pollution control, on the directions of the National Green Tribunal, has fined four hospitals in the city Rs 63.3 lakh as compensation for illegally discharging untreated biomedical waste and sewage into rivers, officials said on Thursday.

The action was taken after the NGT on July 5 directed the UPPCB to issue show-cause notices to the four hospitals and claim compensation for failing to adhere to Biomedical Waste Rules, 2016.
