GetLinks, a digital platform that connects tech workers with opportunities in Asia, has launched MetaLINKS, the first human resource (HR) metaverse in Asia dedicated to fostering financial and education inclusion for young millennials.
"MetaLINKS is set up to connect and work adjacent to other leading metaverses in the gaming and creative ecosystems by supplying developers, operators and audiences to them, and sharing a common mission to help talent earn more and spend more wisely," said Pichaya Srifar, co-founder and chief technology officer of GetLinks.
He said the LINKS token is a digital currency that powers MetaLINKS.
Some use cases include the acquisition and engagement of talent, who are rewarded with LINKS, while work and gamified tasks done inside MetaLINKS are transacted using LINKS and smart contracts enhancing current escrow payment solutions, said Mr Pichaya.
"The metaverse is here to stay, as new technologies are already validated by early influencers such as gamers, artists, investors and advocates of Web 3.0 who in record time created a zero-to-a-billion-dollar industry faster than it took the internet to achieve the same results," he said.
HR technology is a crucial component of venture building that gathers developers and operators who build the infrastructure for future generations, said Mr Pichaya.
MetaLINKS is the first and only metaverse dedicated to serving employment and education globally, providing more than 20 million job searches annually by several million job seekers, he said.
The digital profile system of GetLinks has a built-in "MetaMask-Wallet" to help talent earn more in a fairer, more transparent and cost-efficient way, said Mr Pichaya.
GetLinks has more than 100,000 clients and a talent pool of millions, he said.
The initial goal is to attract innovative pioneers willing to share their digital and environmental, social and governance transformation journey to benefit others. The team is careful to attract companies that best represent their sectors, said Mr Pichaya.
"As for talent, we are open to all willing to learn and contribute in this direction," he said.
The millions of diverse workers in the GetLinks ecosystem provide the best test bed for all the project owners tapping into MetaLINKS to validate their product and service offerings, from traditional to new paradigms, said Mr Pichaya.
Keenan Kwok, co-founder and group chief executive of GetLinks, said the main objective of MetaLINKS is to facilitate the migration of Web 2.0 users to Web 3.0 where all users can take back control of their "electronic know-your-customer" identity.
