Ahead of its imminent release into early access, developer Gentlymad Studios just offered a new glimpse at apocalyptic city-building sequel Endzone 2, which is set to arrive on Steam in just a few days' time.
Shown off at the Future Games Show at Gamescom Presented by Sid Meier’s Civilization® VII, Endzone 2 offered a look at building, resource gathering, and unit movement. Underneath that, of course, was a very close look at the game's apocalyptic world, which was destroyed after an ecological disaster.
Releasing into early access on Steam on August 26, Endzone 2 builds on its predecessor, 2021's Endzone: A World Apart. This time, you're forced to journey through the wasteland that surrounds the world you attempted to settle in the original game. With your trusty bus to help you get around, you'll have to brave this world - dealing with its treacheries as well as claiming its potential bounties.
Endzone 2 is expected to spend at least a year in early access, during which time developer Gentlymad hopes to use player feedback to improve the game. The lessons that the team learned from the previous game will also shape this sequel's development, with plans to split updates between smaller and larger patches. Having worked hard to set itself apart from a busy genre with its original game, it looks like Gentlymad is hoping to do even more with Endzone 2.
