Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia have agreed to a winner-takes-all bet of their fight purses ahead of their grudge fight.
The lightweight pair will finally go head-to-head this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with huge stakes for the undefeated stars. Both Davis and Garcia will be hoping a win in this showdown will see them propelled to a shot at world honours, having both agreed to take a huge risk at this stage of their careers.
During the launch press conferences, Davis and Garcia regularly traded verbal barbs with the heated face-offs building tension for the bumper main event. And in a fresh face-off online held by social-media star Kai Cenat on an Instagram live stream, the pair agreed to a new wager which could make a win all the more important.
'Tank' shouted at his rival: "Yo, you wanna bet?. Garcia then responded: "Yeah, let's do it. I'm down." Davis then added the condition to the bet: "The whole purse?" Before Garcia rounded off the bet and confirmed his agreement, adding: "Let's do it the whole purse. You hear me on the live, let's go, let's make a contract, let's sign it, both of us."
Reports indicate that Davis will likely earn around £1.2 million prior to his split of the pay-per-view revenue with Garcia a fraction at around £300,000. Both fighters will be hoping that the showdown will spark significant interest, with the engagement prior to the fight seen as a roaring success so far.
Davis himself has suggested he will eye bigger-and-better title fights in the future with the winner of Devin Haney's huge fight against Vasyl Lomachenko just a month later potentially on his mind. Meanwhile Garcia will be hoping to propel himself into stardom and hijack that position having already beaten the likes of Luke Campbell and Javier Fortuna.

And the B-side fighter has suggested that the sole ambition of the early stages of his career has been to derail his rival's career and he is excited to get the opportunity over the line. He said: “This fight means a lot to me. It means everything. It’s a moment that I’ve been envisioning for so long now.
It’s the only thing I’ve wanted for so long, to defeat Gervonta Davis and to destroy him. To end everything that he’s ever worked for, because I know he’s trying to do that for me. I’m going to take him out. He’s done. It’s nap time for Gervonta. This is a fight to show everybody that I’m great. I’m not daring to be great.
"I know I’m great. I know when I step in the ring, he’s going to feel something he’s never felt before. I’m going to conquer him. Everything he tries to do I’ll have an answer for him. Gervonta Davis is not going to beat me. I promise you."
