German police recently uncovered a unique criminal operation in the city of Düsseldorf, where a pizzeria was found to be serving a side order of cocaine along with their popular pizza number 40. The illegal activity came to light after food inspectors raised suspicions in March, prompting the intervention of the drug squad.
Upon closer observation, law enforcement officials discovered that the pizzeria manager, a 36-year-old individual, was allegedly involved in the distribution of drugs. During a police raid, the manager attempted to dispose of evidence by throwing a bag of drugs out of the window, only for it to land directly in the hands of officers. The confiscated items included 1.6 kilograms of cocaine, 400 grams of cannabis, and a substantial amount of cash totaling 268,000 euros.
Despite being briefly detained, the pizzeria manager resumed operations and continued to offer the illicit pizza number 40. This allowed investigators to delve deeper into the criminal network, leading to the arrest of three suspects, including the 22-year-old mastermind behind the drug operation. Additionally, authorities conducted raids on the residences and businesses of 12 other suspects, uncovering two cannabis plantations and seizing weapons, cash, and luxury items.
Following an attempt to flee the country, the pizzeria manager was apprehended and remains in custody. To protect the privacy of individuals involved, their names have not been disclosed by the police. The exact pricing of the drug-infused pizza remains undisclosed by authorities.
