Leeds United are heavily pursuing a deal to sign Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter this month. The 20-year-old is expected to cost between €30-40 million.
Jesse Marsch has made a striker one of his main priorities during the January transfer window, as he attempts to inject firepower into the attack.
Rodrigo has netted 11 times across all competitions this season, but Patrick Bamford's struggles with form and fitness has seen the goal scoring responsibilities rest firmly on Rodrigo's shoulders.

Reports suggest Leeds are edging closer to securing Rutter's signature, although nothing is yet set in stone. Here are all the latest updates regarding the Rutter transfer links...
Rutter 'could arrive in Leeds' for his medical ahead of move from Hoffenheim
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, a deal to sign Rutter is close to being finalised and the France U21 international could arrive in Leeds today to complete his medical.
Rutter is reportedly open to the move, which is expected to cost Leeds between €30-40 million. Hoffenheim would've liked to keep him longer but cannot refuse Leeds' offer.
Plettenberg tweeted on Monday [Jan 9]: "If everything works out tonight the player could arrive could arrive in Leeds tomorrow in order to complete his medical.
"Leeds was always pushing. Hoffenheim couldn't say no to that massive financial package but would have loved to keep him longer."
Hoffenheim break silence on Leeds United's rivals for Georginio Rutter signature
Georginio Rutter did not feature in Hoffenheim’s Monday friendly amid mounting interest from a number of clubs, the German club has confirmed. Rutter has been strongly linked with a move to Leeds United over the last few days, with the Whites reportedly in talks over a deal in the region of €30m.
The 20-year-old striker only penned a new deal with the German club last year, but he has caught the eye with his performances this season to establish himself as one of the brightest young talents in the Bundesliga.
As such, it would certainly be seen as a statement of intent if the Whites were to successfully land him this month and make him their second signing after adding Max Wober to their squad earlier this week.
Leeds United 'open talks' claim as Georginio Rutter linked with £30m transfer
Leeds United have been linked with French striker Georginio Rutter for the best part of a year now, with the player one of those on Leeds' watchlist according to plenty of speculation. Now that speculation has become something much more concrete in Germany, at least.
The Whites are reportedly keen to land the 20-year-old from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in January, not in the summer as many would have expected when hearing of the link, given Leeds' recent record of January spending.
The Whites made their first signing earlier this week when they completed a deal for Austrian defender Maximilian Wober from Red Bull Salzburg. And now reports have emerged linking them to Rutter in what would be a huge investment.
