Georgia QB Carson Beck Split College Football Fans With Controversial Thanksgiving Take

Thanksgiving means three things: family, food and football.

But Georgia quarterback Carson Beck started quite the debate at the dinner table on Thursday when his Thanksgiving take made waves on social media.

“I don’t eat mac and cheese at Thanksgiving,” Beck said in a TikTok video that made the rounds on social media. “It’s all overrated. Turkey’s dry. Mac and cheese is gross.”

Although Thanksgiving food takes are something of a tradition across the media landscape at this time of year, even the boldest of hot-take artists usually leave mac and cheese out of the fray.

Sure, you can prefer ham over turkey and have opinions on canned versus fresh cranberry sauce. But mac is sacred in some circles.

Some college football fans were quick to call for a retraction from Beck.

But other commenters appreciated Beck’s candor. But while many agreed with his turkey take, there were only a select few that joined him in his mac and cheese slander.

The Bulldogs (11–0), ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff standings, wrap up the regular season Saturday at Georgia Tech (6–5). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET in Atlanta.
