George Clooney 'to reunite' with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon in new Ocean's instalment

Actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are set to reunite for a fourth Ocean's film - the first in the hit franchise for 15 years - according to reports.

The trio last starred together in Ocean's Thirteen and now look set to reprise their roles of Danny Ocean, Rusty Ryan and Lindus Caldwell respectively, despite previously vowing the 2007 sequel would be their last.

Plans were previously afoot to produce Ocean's Fourteen way back in 2008, but these were shelved following the death of Bernie Mac (Frank Catton) that same year.

Fellow cast member Don Cheadle would later reveal: "We were talking about it, and then Bernie passed, and very quickly we were like, 'No, we don't want to do it.'"

The release would mark the first in the franchise in 15 years (Warner Bros. Pictures.)

However, in what appears to be a U-turn on that decision, a source told MailOnline : "Rumours of a film starring George, Brad and Matt have swirled for years but the timing was off and their jam-packed schedules meant that it was just not possible.

"Finally the right team for the job has come together in a bid to make it a huge success and the main stars thought it would be good fun to revisit.

"The franchise is hugely popular and the brilliant storyline was an opportunity that was too good to miss."

Clooney, meanwhile, was part of another major reunion last week as he joined another Ocean's star in Julia Roberts on the red carpet for the first time in over two decades.

The two Hollywood legends beamed as they posed alongside each other at the London premiere of their new movie, Ticket to Paradise - 21 years on from the pair first walking a red carpet together for their first flick, Ocean's 11.

Both stars looked as if they have barely aged since they last promoted a movie together in the 00s, with Clooney looking his trademark dapper-self as he wore an crisp white shirt and a sharp dark blue three-piece tailored suit.

Oscar-winner Julia, meanwhile, wore a custom-made Chantilly lace dress with customised crystal graffiti motives embroidered across the designed created by Alexander McQueen, and completed her ensemble with a black cropped wool silk tuxedo jacket.

Mirror Online has invited representatives for George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon to comment.
