Holly Hagan has spoken of her horror at finding out that one of her friend's dads trolled her after she shot to fame on Geordie Shore.
Holly was one of the original cast members on the MTV show when it launched in the summer of 2011 but, while she and co-stars like Charlotte Crosby, Gaz Beadle and Vicky Pattison quickly earned themselves legions of fans, people from Holly's hometown of Middlesbrough were quick to post hurtful comments about her.
Holly opened up about the hate she faced in the early days of her TV career on podcast Should I Delete That when she told the hosts Alex Light and Em Clarkson: " It was hard to read, there wasn't such thing as an internet troll then. People were just saying it, they didn't care," she said.

"They were making up all these rumours and saying really horrific things."
And it was then that Holly, who was just 18 when Newcastle-based Geordie Shore launched, revealed that one of the people trolling her was a mate's dad.
The now 29-year-old explained: "I knew these people - one of them was my friend's dad," before adding that other people she classed as good friends had also made vitriolic comments about her.
Holly, an ambassador for anti-bullying charity Ditch The Label, has previously opened up about how she decided to move away from home turf for fear of what would happen to her.
As she adjusted to TV fame, Holly found a number of Facebook groups set up about her by trolls to spread vile rumours and make threats against her including one called 'Holly Hagan is the Biggest Embarrassment to Teesside.'
Two of the worst comments read: 'Someone give me a shovel so I can smash her in the face to make her look a bit better' and 'I wish this girl would just end it once and for all.'
Holly said she was so scared of what might happen to her after being bombarded with threats that she had to move somewhere else, with some locals saying they "couldn't wait" for her to get 'swilled' or 'started' on when she went out in town and Holly admitting she was bottled and had drinks thrown at her on numerous occasions.
