New Delhi: The voting, under second of the seven phases, for 88 Lok Sabha seats in 12 States and 1 Union Territory (UT) began this morning at a rather slow pace, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
The 88 Lok Sabha seats are spread over in 12 States and 1 Union Territory including Assam (5), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (3), Karnataka (14), Kerala (20), Madhya Pradesh (7), Maharashtra (8), Manipur(1), Rajasthan (13), Tripura (1), Uttar Pradesh (8), West Bengal (3) and Union Territory of Jammu & kashmir (1).
This General Election 2024 is slated to take place in 7 phases and is spread over 40 days with the last phase on June 1. The phase-1 election for 102 seats has alredy taken plase on April 19.

(Note: Odisha Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 4 phases from May 13 to June 1).

Voting Pattern:
During this General Elections 2024, India will vote in 3 ways
1. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs): There are this time over 55 lakh EVMs. Most of the voters will vote through EVMs.
2. Postal Ballot: Over 19 lakh service personnel and those who are on poll duty will vote through Postal Ballot.
3. From Home: This is introduced for the first time in Lok Sabha polls for those who are 85 years and above.
The counting of votes for all the 7 phases will take place on June 1.
