Gemma Owen is reported to have secured a “six-figure clothing deal” after finishing as a runner-up in this summer’s Love Island on ITV2.
The 19-year-old daughter of footballer Michael Owen has completed her stint on the dating game show, taking second place with her partner, the 23-year-old fishmonger Luca Bish.
Despite missing out on the £50,000 prize that went to winners Ekin-Su CülcüloÄlu and Davide Sanclimenti, Owen is now set for a bumper pay deal.
The reality star already holds her own luxury swimwear line, OG Beachwear, which she launched in March this year. Bikinis start from £130 with swimming trunks from £110.
She also works as an international dressage rider.
Now, Owen is set to become the face of the fast-fashion online retailer, Boohoo.
An inside source told The Sun, that Owen “had lots of brands keen to sign her”.
The Love Island star was the youngest contestant to ever go on the show and has now left as a finalist having made her family “proud”.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning, Owen got the confirmation that her dad is pleased with how things panned out.
She said: “He just says, “So proud, you didn’t do anything to sort of disgrace us”. He’s happy. Everyone seems just buzzing which is nice.”
Owen had also been waiting for her family’s approval of her relationship with Luca Bish before going official. Now, the pair have plans for a special day where Bish may ask the official question.
Owen, soon-to-be the face of Boohoo, commented: “I mean we’re pretty much official, we’ve just not got a label on it. That’s up to Luca.”
