Gemma Collins makes 'urgent' plea as she heads to Newcastle after being evacuated from hotel

Gemma Collins issued an urgent plea to people in Newcastle as she headed up north with her one woman show Big Night Out.

Fresh from the news that she will be taking on the iconic role of Mama Morton in hit musical Chicago, with her opening night in Sunderland in May, TOWIE diva Gemma has hit the road with her one woman show which opened in Manchester last week. Since the curtain went up on Big Night Out last week, Gemma has played to audiences in the likes of Glasgow, London and Birmingham and on Thursday night it's the turn of the Toon to get the GC treatment.

The show was originally scheduled to take place at Newcastle City Hall last week, but has now been moved to Northumbria University with the date changed, so that Newcastle becomes the finally calling point on Gemma's tour. And, as she travelled from Cardiff to Tyneside, Gemma placed an urgent call out on social media for someone to do her lashes.

Posting on her Instagram story, the former Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing on Ice contestant wrote: "Urgent. The GC needs lashes. Is any lash tech available in Newcastle today at 4.30pm? DM ASAP!" Asking her followers to share the post with any lash technicians they knew, Gemma made a similar plea on her Twitter account, posting: "Can anyone recommend someone amazing who does eyelash extensions in Newcastle for 4 pm today please."

Gemma's plea for a lash technician in the Newcastle area comes as she was evacuated from her hotel in Cardiff in the early hours of Thursday morning, following her gig at the city's St David's Hall just hours earlier. Gemma documented what was happening on her Instagram story.

Filming her security guard walking down the stairs of the building, Gemma told her millions of followers: "Guys you couldn't write it. It's half five in the morning.

"After my performance last night I went for a bit of dinner, came home and got woken up this morning by a fire alarm. We have got the all clear at the hotel. "I'm really pleased everyone is OK and it is a false alarm."
