Gemma Atkinson has shared how she has 'crazy feelings of emotions' as the sun set on her last holiday before giving birth to her second child. The Hits Radio host and her fiance Gorka Marquez have been soaking up the sun with their daughter, Mia, on what will be their final holiday as a family of three.
Gemma and her Strictly Come Dancing star beau Gorka announced back in January that Mia, three, was set to become a big sister as they were expecting their second child together. Bury-born Gemma shared the news as it had become "impossible" to hide her baby bump any longer, telling fans they would be welcoming a baby boy this summer.
Ahead of their son's arrival, Gemma, 38, and Gorka, 32, whisked Mia off for some quality family time during the half-term break. But all good things must come to an end and on Monday evening (April 10), Gemma was reflecting on the end of their holiday and looking ahead to what's next for them as a family.
Posting a video of her and Mia taking in the view from the sea, the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star wrote on her Instagram Story: "Last sunset in the sea for a while..." adding a face holding back tears emoji and a red heart. She then followed up the post with an image of her and her little girl standing with the sand between their toes as the sea rocked back and forth in front of them.
Adding a GIF which read: "My little lady," Gemma then wrote: "Crazy feelings of emotions right now. Knowing this is the last time our holiday is just us, but also the excitement of the next one with my son as well." She then added: "Parenting is a full on rollercoaster indeed."
The star then took to her main Instagram grid where she shared a string of holiday snaps while issuing both a warning and an apology to her fans. "That’s a wrap on another holiday," she typed alongside the string of images which featured Mia having fun on the beach as well as Gemma showcasing her blossoming baby bump.
"Spending time on the sand, in the pool, eating Great food and sleeping loads. It’s what it’s all about! Although I have fun with you anywhere and anytime @gorka_marquez." She then added: "Ps. Clearly be more holiday spam incoming over next few days as I’ll mentally still be there. Soz."
Gorka was quick to reply to the post, writing: "Best week," with a number of red hearts. While fans were quick to comment, branding Gemma and Gorka 'family goals'. @sasha_lovepilates_ said: "You look absolutely incredible and you and Gorka are totally couples and family goals."
@ianmcampbell commented: "Fabulous! You are glowing!" @gorkamarquezx replied: "The cutest family ever. Hope u had the best time away." @daniel_son0 shared: "Don't say soz for grafting to give your fam a beautiful life. Gemma was previously praised as she told, in a body confident post, how she had packed some beach trousers to wear after feeling swollen and bloated and saying she'd 'never had as much cellulite in her life.' She says four years older after her first pregnancy it has been harder on her body.
She shared how she had decided to ditch the trousers from day one of the holiday after thinking about the 'negative effect' it could have on Mia. The star has since been wearing her bikinis every day. "I bought some beach trousers to wear on this holiday, because even though im aware why it’s happening and how clever my body is, I’ve never been as swollen, bloated, uncomfortable in every day tasks and had as much cellulite in my life," she explained as she took to Instagram with a video of mother and daughter having fun on the sand.
"My boobs alone are three cup sizes up! Second pregnancy, almost four years older and with a little boy this time it’s been a lot harder on my body. (I know how we feel about our bodies is relevant to the individual and it’s just how I currently feel in MY body) I got to the beach on day one of this holiday, looked at Mia playing and I suddenly felt relaxed. It dawned on me if I kept them on that she’d ask why I’m in trousers and I thought about the negative effect It could have on her down the line me saying 'because mummy’s legs & bum are a lot bigger than usual.'"
She continued: "I don’t ever want her to feel like she should cover herself, especially on the beach! So the pants came in handy to wipe up my non alcoholic cocktail but other than that, they haven’t been needed! Ive worn my bikinis every day. "
Gemma added: "The top of my thighs chaffed like a MF but we had an absolute blast on the beach and made the most incredible memories as a family. I can’t belive next time we’ll have little man with us as a family of four. We’re so lucky and so blessed."
