Coronation Street's Alan Halsall was among those showing their support for Isabella Flanagan as the ITV soap star picked up one of her first major awards. The young actress is loved for playing troublesome child Hope Stape on the cobbles.
Isabella took home the award for Best Young Performer at the Inside Soap Awards 2022 on Monday night (October 17). It comes after she was nominated alongside her older sister, Amelia, who is famed for playing April Windsor in Emmerdale. She also saw off competition from Amelia's Emmerdale co-star Gabrielle Dowling, who plays Cathy Hope, Isabella's Corrie co-star Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman.
Donning a pretty green dress with her brunette locks styled into a classic updo, Isabella beamed for the cameras as she posed with her silverware. Posting a sneaky picture of their daughter on the red carpet, Isabelle's proud parents Rachel and Chris shared on Instagram: "SHE DID IT! So proud of you," alongside a red heart.
Isabella's on-screen step-dad Alan, who is best known for playing Corrie's Tyrone Dobbs, was among the first to comment, simply sharing a red love heart in the comments section. Meanwhile, former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson sweetly shared: "Amazing!!!"
Chris also shared the announcement of Isabella's win on Twitter and penned: "So so proud of this one, thanks to everyone that voted, she loves every minute of playing Hope and I promise there’s lots more to come……." And fans were quick to share their own piece for the young soap star.
@viennaxharrison posted: "Awe bless her, well done, I bet you & your family are absolutely buzzing. Saw the interview where Amelia wanted Isabella to win. Such a fantastic achievement." @erinbreen28 shared: "Congratulations Isabella both of your daughters are amazing actors so talented!!"
@mere_earthlings wrote: "Amazing performer!!! We love watching from the states!!! Brilliant." @dunsleanne replied: "Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! What an achievement. Well done." @scripttoscene added: "You’ve got two very talented daughters. And I hope your son gets award recognition one day as he’s great too."
Talking about the nomination to Inside Soap back in August , Amelia said: "It’s surreal that all three of us have ended up in soaps! I’m up against Bella for an award for the first time, and as much as I’d love to win, I really hope my sister gets it!"
And while the teen admits she's "Team Emmerdale" and her siblings, as the two sisters also have a famous brother William who plays Joseph Brown in Corrie, are "Team Corrie", she says it is "never competitive". She sweetly added: "I’ve run lines with Bella where she’s played Hope and I’ve pretended to be a character from Coronation Street, and she’s done the same with me, so it’s fun!"
