Gedling primary school calls on former pupils to help celebrate its 60th anniversary

A primary school in Nottinghamshire is celebrating its 60th anniversary and is calling on former pupils to share their memories. Phoenix Infant and Nursery School in Gedling is hosting a garden party to celebrate.

The school, which takes children from the ages of three to seven, are wanting people to share memories of the past including photos which can then be displayed at the garden party in July.

Headteacher Mrs Harper said: "This is a fantastic event celebrating 60 years of Phoenix. We are looking forward to an amazing event that brings our community back together after the challenges of the past couple of years.

The headteacher, who has been in the position since 2012, added: "At the garden party we will create a display of the memories and any photos that have been shared." The garden party will take place on the July 8.

The school, located on Phoenix Avenue, has 212 pupils and was awarded a 'good' rating from their Ofsted report earlier this year. The report said: "Pupils flourish at this small school with its friendly and caring ethos."
