Gavin Newsom’s wife slammed Donald Trump after the US president mocked the California governor’s learning disabilities.
Speaking in the Oval Office on Monday (16 March), Mr Trump said that Mr Newsom’s dyslexia makes him unfit for the White House; “I think a president should not have learning disabilities, OK?”
Responding to the remark, Jennifer Siebel Newsom posted a video on social media where she slammed Mr Trump’s comments as “extremely ignorant and offensive”.
“Learning difficulties don’t make you less intelligent, less capable, and they certainly don’t make you less worthy of leadership,” she said, adding that “everything that Donald Trump represents is frankly beyond disqualifying”.
